Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.
In order to use all features of this website, a user may first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our site in which you have expressed interest. At your option, you may also provide demographic information (such as gender or age) about yourself, but it is not required.
We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you.
We believe in efficiency and transparency in everything that we do. To facilitate this, we entrust our entire billing and payment business process to Stripe, and take full advantage of all of Stripe’s product offerings and features available to us, and that we are eligible to use.
Traditionally, there are fees associated with these services as they provide convenience, protect against fraud, simplify payments, improve reporting accuracy and transparency, etcetera.
As a merchant, we choose to pass these fees on to our customers, which is our right as granted by the United States District Court – Eastern District of New York as of November 7, 2019. You can read more in the final court order here. This court order is a result of a class action settlement between virtually all merchants who accept credit cards in the United States and Visa, Mastercard, et al. You can read more about the settlement in general here.
When you receive an invoice from us, or our payment processing partner Stripe on behalf of us, you may see a line item listed as “Processing Fee”, “Fee Recovery”, or another similar description. This fee is in addition to our quoted and invoiced price and is calculated using a formula outlined here.
Below you will find the formula from the above link:
Please note that businesses in the United States are not subject to VAT/GST and that note is irrelevant in such cases.
Pcharge is the total price you are being charged and are expected to pay.
Pgoal is the sum total of our stated cost, taxes, fees, etcetera as quoted or invoiced to you, prior to Stripe’s fees.
To obtain Ffixed and Fpercent, we total all of the percentage based fees and fixed fees Stripe charges us for any products or product features we elect to use, or may be subject to as a result of the payment method you choose to utilize as our customer, at your convenience.
Below is a table listing the fees included, as they were obtained from Pricing & fees | Stripe:
- Standard, Base Fee: 2.9% + 30 cents
- ACH: 0.8%
- iDEAL: 80 cents
- 3D Secure: 3 cents
- Card Account Updater: 25 cents
- Adaptive Acceptance: 0.08%
- Instant Payout: 1%
- Billing: 0.5%
- Radar: 5 cents
- Radar for Fraud Teams: 7 cents
- Chargeback Protection: 0.4%
- Sigma: 2 cents
Given the above table, the Ffixed value we use is $1.52 and the Fpercent value we use is 5.68%.
